Birth certificate

How to register the birth of a person omitted to be registered

First  a certificate has to be obtained from the panchayath or the municipality that the birth of the person has not been registered. To get this certificate you have to apply to the concerned authority in the prescribed form with proof of date of birth in the form of school certificate or an affidavit in Rs.100/- stamp paper from an elderly relative swearing about the date of birth, place of birth and parents. The concerned authority will issue a certificate stating that the birth is not registered. With this certificate  a white paper application with requisite court fee has to be given to the Revenue Divisional Officer along with form no.1 requesting to condone the delay and order registration of the birth. Along with the application evidence in the form of school certificate or affidavit as stated above has to be submitted. The RDO will order enquiry through the Tahasildar who will ask the concerned village officer to enquire.  On obtaining the report and on being satisfied about the facts the RDO may condone the delay and direct the concerned authority to register the birth. Once the birth is registered application can be given to the concerned authority to get the birth certificate. This process may take upto a year and may be
reduced by continuous follow up.
